GSPA Open Show 30th September 2017

My sincere thanks to the GSPA for inviting me to judge their 2017 Open Show. There was a relaxed  and happy atmosphere in the hall and all ran smoothly due to the committees hard work. I thoroughly enjoyed the day.

There were many pleasing dogs, particularly the youngsters, who will all have success in the future I’m sure.

It was satisfying to see dogs of correct size, with good muscle definition and good coats. Such a shame there were so very few entries for the Field Trial classes – it’s what we are about!

Finally thank you to the exhibitors for their entry and sporting acceptance of my decisions.

Flashy young dog, masculine in head retaining a soft expression. Well up for size, just needs time to fill out and mature.

1st Jackman’s Navigareamor Hardtoport
Another boy well up to size, pleasing head, overall construction good with plenty of bone. Moved well.

1st Stayley’s Keigame Chilli Bean at Jomeel
This boy stood out to me, so solid and strong with an air of importance. A well defined, noble head with lovely dark eye and deep muzzle. Straight front and well muscled throughout. Good course coat and tight feet. BD & BIS

2nd Rose & Hunt’s Kavacanne Gale Force Wind
Another good looking dog, possessing neat front, excellant turn of stifle and good coat. Held topline well on the move.

3rd Sielski’s Orchidstar Wotsit JW

Open Dog (3, 1a)
1st Pearson’s Ladyhawke Sultan
A flashy compact dog in appearance, well balanced with good front. Looked in really good condition and moved well.

2nd Rusk’s Marann’s Springmist over Booton
A bigger boy than my winner with lovely head and soft expression. Well muscled and majestic with correct topline and tailset, however just not at ease in the ring today.

Very much liked the look of this dog. Well balanced with sound construction. Strong neck into good shoulders, stood steady as a rock. BV & RBD

Such gorgeous babies in this class it was a delight to go over them.
1st Rumney’s Kacela Sweet Ayona
What a stunning girl at just 6 months old. Such a pretty head and melting expression. excellant angulation and so well balanced. Good bone. Stood beautifully for her handler at her first show. Held her topline on the move, showing correct tailset.Looked a picture. BP & BPIS

2nd Flaherty & Reddyhough’s Isara Kurzhaar Bordeaux
Another lovely baby, liver ticked and with finer head than 1. Nicely shaped neck and shoulders, lovely dark coat, straight pasterns and good feet. A lively and confident puppy.

Pretty 7 month old bitch. Short coupled, sweet head. moved confidently for a youngster.

Very well balanced. Good head with medium neck into good shoulders. Dark eye will come in time. Straight front and nice bend of stifle.

An attractive b/w bitch, well up for size for her 14 months. Good coarse coat. Held her topline on the move.

3rd Hustler’s Aytee Katerina

Stood alone but worthy of her first place. Pleasing head, well proportioned with good angulation and muscle tone.

Well balanced, workmanlike looking bitch. Nice head with appealing dark eye. Excellent muscle definition throughout. Tight well shaped feet. RBB

2nd Sielski’s Orchidstar Xtra O’live Oil JW
Good head shape, a little light in eye colour, slightly longer in loin than winner. Well angulated with taut coat.

3rd Staley’s Jomeel Kissantell

Such a feminine girl with sweet head and dark eye.Excellent neck and shoulders flowing down to create super topline and tailset. Smart and compact with good bend of stifle Moved well in a small ring. BB, RBIS & BOS

2nd Peebles Keigame Hopscotch
Solid liver, well constructed with gorgeous expression. Correct size, well muscled. Good movement.

3rd Cox’s Cushatlaw Irresistable JW ShCM

Seven year old liver ticked with pleasing head, correct eye colour and good dentition. Strong hind quarters, she moved well and kept her topline.

Nine year old girl, again with a good head, slightly longer in loin than 1. Well angulated with short coat.

3rd Whitehouse’s Kazanpaul Creme Brulee
